MHR swish

Zoological Society of London

After 10 years of working with MHR, ZSL is moving to People First to deliver accessible, mobile HR technology for its diverse, global workforce.

Challenges

ZSL employs around 700 people across London Zoo, Whipsnade Zoo and conservation projects around the world. Many employees work outdoors, care for animals, engage with visitors or operate overseas rather than sitting at a desk. ZSL needed HR technology that could support this varied workforce wherever they worked, while continuing to provide a reliable and resilient payroll service.

Solutions

After a decade of using iTrent for HR and payroll, ZSL has signed a new 10-year partnership with MHR. The organisation will move to People First in April 2027, giving employees access to HR technology through their phones and tablets. This next phase will build on iTrent’s dependable payroll engine and workflow capabilities, while introducing a more mobile and connected employee experience.

Key benefits:

  • A trusted 10-year partnership with MHR, extended for another decade
  • A robust and resilient payroll platform that supports accurate, on-time payments
  • Continually improved HR processes using iTrent workflow
  • Mobile access to HR technology for employees working across zoos and conservation projects
  • A future-ready platform that can evolve with ZSL’s people, technology and conservation mission

“Signing a 10-year contract may seem unusual, but we’ve had 10 solid years partnering with MHR. We’re confident about the exciting opportunities ahead and influencing how the technology develops.” Keith Day, Reward and HR Information Systems Manager
