Our commitment to sustainability
Sustainability touches every part of our organisation; from business development to the operations of our offices and how we support our customers and local community. We aim to improve People, Planet and Profit. Everything is led by our six priorities: Community, Climate, Resources, Trust, Generations and Equality.

MHR and Planet Mark
We are working with Planet Mark to measure our carbon footprint. This is a major way in which we can have a positive impact on the planet and our society. Through the Planet Mark Business Certification, we will measure and reduce our carbon footprint to ensure sustainability is embedded into our business practices.
Clean, renewable energy now powers our offices, with on-site solar panels contributing to an increasing proportion of that.
Our promise to sustainability
Actions. Evidence. Ambitions. Our interactive report covers the ways that sustainability touches every part of our business. See what we've been doing to tackle our six priorities and our plans for the next decade.
Our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
Good Health
We promote healthy lives and wellbeing through charitable initiatives such as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Movember. All employees also have access to Mental Health First Aiders, a confidential EAP service and a 24-hour GP service.
Quality Education
We aim to promote and nurture homegrown talent whenever possible. We do this by connecting with local schools and universities, holding specialist events and providing both placement and work experience opportunities.
Gender Equality
Equality, diversity and inclusion are guiding principles for all our staff from day one. We are proud of MHR's diverse community. In the typically male-dominated tech industry, we're happy to break the mould while always seeking to improve further.
Affordable and Clean Energy
We constantly monitor ways to move towards using more sustainable energy sources. Our new buildings at our Mere Way campus harness solar energy, and we provide EV charging stations there.
Decent Work and Economic Growth
MHR Academy helps us provide holistic training to graduates and new colleagues. Investing in our people has long-term benefits – 20% of our staff have worked with us for a decade or more.
Industry Innovation Infrastructure
Our new buildings reflect commitment to our people with innovative and inclusive workspaces. We're upping our use of solar panels to offset the impact this development has had and contribute to a sustainable future.
Reduced Inequalities
We aim to create software that is accessible for all, so we worked closely with the Royal National Institute of Blind People when developing our products. We've invested over 1,300 hours in making People First truly accessible.
Responsible Compensation and Production
We have solar panels at HQ and a data centre with regulated cooling to reduce power and minimise environmental impact. We also recycle 98.2% of our waste yearly and have invested in clean energy sources.
