Ember, the independent energy think-tank, is partnering with MHR, using its comprehensive suite of People First modules, covering HR, learning and talent.

As a clean energy organisation, Ember is committed to using data-driven insights to convert the world’s energy sources to clean solutions. Founded in 2008, the company focuses on using data to drive policy change on climate issues.

The organisation previously relied on manual HR processes which often took up too much time. These processes also often led to inconsistencies across the business for matters including check-ins and performance reviews, which were rarely followed up on after being completed.

With Ember’s employees being based in locations around the world, it also needed a solution that could provide a central, accessible location for company news to keep its dispersed workforce engaged.

MHR's People First was the perfect fit, providing infrastructure that could automate key HR processes, as well as provide a better appraisal experience to managers and other team members. The system also offers Ember the scalability it was seeking, with the option to integrate further modules in the future, including payroll.

Michele Trueman, Operations Support Specialist at Ember, expressed what impressed the organisation about People First, saying, "MHR’s People First provided us with a system that could quickly automate our existing manual approach to many HR processes. We could really see how the solution could be easily integrated into our business and how People First could act as a central hub for company announcements, helping us to keep our team engaged in our mission. It just so happens that we have also found a partner that is equally committed to the importance of sustainability.”

Anton Roe, CEO of MHR, said: “People First will have a transformational impact for Ember, automating key HR processes and keeping its global workforce engaged in its important mission. While it’s great to have secured this partnership for our business, we’re equally pleased to be collaborating with an organisation that shares our views on sustainability and tackling climate change. Whether it’s how we work with our customers and local community, or how we run our offices, sustainability is something we consider in every aspect of our business at MHR. We have no doubt that this shared view will guide us towards a fruitful relationship with Ember.”
