Integrations - People

Introduction

Many systems in an organisation could be interested in having data about the current employees and being kept up to date with changes in the workforce. This includes changes to personal details such as name, martial status, address as well as changes in role, location or line manager. It is usually important to know about new employees and to know when someone has left, so that access rights, for example are updated accordingly.

The HR system is usually the master record for employee data informing other systems in the organisation of the changes. To this end the integration of people joiners, movers and leavers is a common use case and an important one.

Examples of systems that need this information are:

  • Identity user management
  • Security and access systems
  • School management information system (MIS)
  • Workforce management
  • Learning management
  • Project management
  • Student management
  • Help desk
  • Expense management
  • User administration
  • Asset management
  • Case management and so on
