Integrations - CV Parsing

Introduction

CV parsing, in People First recruitment, automates the extraction and organisation of information from an applicant’s CV when they upload it to apply for a vacancy reducing the need for an applicant to manually add their details to the system.

CV parsing is integrated into People First and is an example of a People First partner integration.

Key benefits

  • Faster application process
CV parsing scans, identifies and extracts key applicant details, which auto-populates the application making it quicker for applicants to apply for vacancies.

  • Easier to review applications
After extraction, the parsed information is organised into a structured format of an applicant profile making it easier for the hiring team to assess the application in an ordered way.

  • Skills extraction
As part of the parsing process, skills are extracted from the CV/resume based on job titles and descriptions and presented as part of the application form. This utilised with People First’s ‘match and gap’ feature will give the applicant a % match for the campaign they have applied for and this % match is seen by hiring teams, meaning high % match applicants can be identified quickly.

How it works

When an applicant uploads a CV / resume document, the data is sent to a Text Kernel data centre, EU for EU and US for US environments.  The data is structured into the format as outlined above and returned as a JSON file.

The data sent to Text Kernel is not retained by Text Kernel when this process is completed.
