Punch Pubs & Co

Punch Pubs & Co is a prominent pub operator in the UK. Its portfolio includes 1,300 leased pubs across the country. The company is headquartered in Burton-upon-Trent and has over 300 employees.

Challenges

In 2011, following a demerger from a larger business, Punch Pubs & Co needed to modernise its systems while minimising disruption. Initially, the team used MHR’s iTrent to solve these problems. But over time, they generally shifted towards a more modern approach. They wanted employees to self-serve, as this would reduce their administrative overhead. However, this couldn’t come at the expense of accuracy in payroll and HR. 

During the selection process, MHR’s People First clearly stood out thanks to its clean, fresh interface. It was clear this would be easy for both employees and managers to use, boosting engagement levels while also ensuring that all-important accuracy was maintained. 

A slick migration

Once People First had been selected, the HR and Payroll migration was incredibly smooth. Punch Pubs & Co specifically drew attention to the consultancy team, and how their support made the migration much easier. “Nothing ever seems too big an ask,” said Tracey Green, HR Admin and Payroll Specialist.
