Resolution, Retention, Recognition

We are back for another year of weekly updates on all things HR, payroll, finance, learning and analytics. You name it, we will cover it, as our podcast covers all topics relevant to the world of work.

As we kick off a new year of the MHR podcast, our hosts Andy and Alice explore what new year’s resolutions businesses should be setting.

In this episode, we explore how talent retention will provide the biggest challenge to HR professionals at the start of 2024. With research showing that 36% of organisations stating that employee retention is their key challenge for the new year. 30% claim recruitment is still the biggest concern and 27% said that the cost-of-living crisis remains one of the biggest obstacles.

Andy and Alice reflect on the above and discuss what we think businesses can do to support retention at the start of a year. We also talk about ways where employers can capitalise on new talent coming into the business to drive productivity and performance.

Key Topics discussed:

  • Team development, goal setting and building progression plans
  • Learning opportunities and platforms

  • Supporting better communication across teams and organisations

  • Recognition and boosting

  • How people software can support people management and progress

The producer segment with week shines a light on the worst reasons used for leaving a job!
