National Financial Awareness Day 2024 is here

How much is in your bank account right now? Can you comfortably pay every bill this month and save too? What about your employees?

National Financial Awareness Day takes place on the 14th of August every year. It’s all about promoting financial literacy and getting people to talk about what financial wellness means to them.

Poor financial wellbeing can strike anyone. Without good literacy, a few bad months can cause anyone to become financially insecure.

Financial Awareness Day encourages everyone to avoid common financial issues and build a up foundations for success in the future.

There’s a lot of ways that organisations can build on this for their employees. For example, you likely offer a pension, but do you offer materials to help employees understand why pensions matter, and how they can capitalise on it? Could you offer independent financial coaching to help people grapple with key financial concept.

While competitive wages are important, financial wellbeing goes far beyond salary. It’s about empowering employees to make the best choices and hit their goals without stress. With that in mind, there are wider benefits for you if you take this seriously. Employees with less financial stress to deal with deliver better results and are less likely to need time off for illness, for example.
