Our approach to sustainability touches every part of our company. From development, to the operations of our offices, and how we support our customers and local community. With a focus on our People, Planet and Profit, our initiatives are underpinned by our six priorities: Community, Climate, Resources, Trust, Generations and Equality.
Our commitment to sustainability
We use sustainable and renewable resources throughout our supply chain wherever possible – continuing our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and impact on the planet.
From apprentice to senior manager, we commit to ongoing investment in our people through the delivery of training and professional development.
Our promise to sustainability
Discover how our approach to sustainability touches every part of our company. We have been working hard to create this interactive report which covers everything from our three Ps, six priorities and all that we are committed to achieving in the next decade.
Our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
In 2015 the UN outlined 17 sustainable development goals (UN SDGs) as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to develop a global framework; its goal to achieve a more sustainable future for all.
At MHR, we have cemented our sustainability priorities and commitment to support the UN SDGs in reinforcing their global strategy.

Supporting the Ukraine refugee crisis
MHR is supporting the Ukraine refugee crisis through donations valued at £20,000.
As a family-owned business, we feel strongly about doing whatever we can to help those forced to flee Ukraine. We’re pleased to have been able to play a small role by donating to The Polish Scouting Association’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
International Women's Day 2022
Did you know that only 23% of the British public find gender inequality to be an issue?
MHR continues to act as an ally. This year we brought back our annual celebratory breakfast to honour the women at MHR and their outstanding contributions to our business' success.
Restoring Rainbows Hospice Eco Garden
This wonderful space – used by the hospice's children, young people and their families – had become overgrown during pandemic restrictions.
Restoring the paths, freshening-up the paintwork and tackling the weeds was a small but meaningful way to support an amazing charity doing some great work in our community.
We are actively working towards achieving net zero by 2050, which includes being a carbon neutral business by 2028. How we will achieve this is outlined throughout our carbon commitments and carbon framework.
Yes, we publish an annual sustainability report. Please contact us to find out more.
Yes. We fully recognise the impact of our actions on climate change. That’s why we’re taking steps towards a net zero carbon future and tracking our energy consumption across all areas of the business.
We work closely with local charities such as Rainbows Children’s Hospice and Gem FM's Mission Christmas, supporting our local community. We will continue working with these charities, as well as others, throughout the year.
